Sunbury Antiques Market
Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Yesterday I visited one of my favorite places – Sunbury Antiques Market also known as Kempton Park Antiques. It’s a mere 44 minutes train ride from central London and takes place every 2nd and last Tuesday of the month.

It is truly overwhelming, from furniture, taxidermy, crockery to fabrics, toys and hardware you can find everything there. It’s not as cheap as car boot sales – the sellers are more professional and the standard of antiques is really high but it is definitely miles away from London shop prices and you can strike a real bargain.

Fantastic mid century stall…

Vintage fabrics and linens…

Fabulous crockery…

More crockery…

Picnic kettle with bee design, wonderful…

And tasty toasties for cold and hungry souls…

Obviously I couldn’t go home empty-handed. I got some real bargains.
Two Dansk Design candle holders

Wacky print fabric that we will turn into cushions.

And the sweetest copy of Grimm’s Fairy Stories from 1929 illustrated by Mabel Lucie Attwell

Such a satisfying day.
