Textures

The house we bought a couple of months ago looks very very different now however it is not finished. None of the rooms are 100% ready, bathroom is the most finished but needs accessories and storage solutions.

The living room needs unpacking and a table. And a bookshelf!

The bedroom needs wardrobes.

The kitchen needs a lot but we managed to put great rubber floor down this weekend, it cheered me up a lot. All done by hubby.

The staircase needs everything done pretty much and the baby room needs furniture, it is a storage now.

And of course there is the garden, that needs digging and planting. Perhaps this weekend.

So I thought I would share few textures with you, mostly of floors.

The kitchen (with baby laundry drying which is ALWAYS the case). The floor is rubber tiles, it’s a very nice shade of green, this picture doesn’t show its full beauty.

The bathroom walls. We went for classic Metro tiles.

The bathroom floor. Green Victorian tiles.

Elsewhere. Sea grass carpets.

Excellent taste! Very stylish and simple. I love the floor in the kitchen. It does take time, but it’s so good to get the basics done. Keep us posted please.

    thank you ladies!

Kristina: the rubber tiles came from a company called Polymax, they have got a great selection. ours are in olive

they got stuck to plywood. it’s such a pleasant surface.

And the sea grass is easy to hoover and you can get away with a lot too as it masks things well. The carper came from Myers Carpets, a very old fashioned but superb company, we had to faxed them the order because when we asked for email address they went http://www.myerscarpets.co.uk!

It all looks so great…I imagine it must be such a relief to have these things coming together now! I really love the kitchen floor…the rubber is something that I don’t think is common here in the US, but it sounds like a fabulous idea.

I love neutral colours in homes! You can accent it so easily with some accessories, and it will never be boring!
    Can’t wait for more pictures!

Laura: it is a huge relief. The kitchen cupboards are coming next weekend, I can’t wait to have proper worktops and unpack my Kitchen Aid!

Marta: coming up soon, I hope!
