To be absolutely honest I had no idea about Wisley until a couple of you mentioned it in the comments in the last couple of weeks. Then my mother-in-law, a RHS member, said that they have a flower show this weekend and we decided to use this hot Sunday to go and visit. Knowing that I want to go there again for the Taste of Autumn Festival I also became a member, how exciting it is to discover all the other treats in store for the next 12 months.
I really loved the charming main building, even though it was big it had a feel of a small cozy cottage.
Then I fell in love with the Alpine displays, so many succulents I have never seen before.
Some alpines in the show.
Pretty meadow near the kids’ play area.
The show was small and not that spectacular but we got some inspiration and plants nevertheless. I also added few more flowers to the list of what to grow from seeds next year like rudbeckia, I really need to add some colour to my garden in the late summer.
We got some grass seeds, the echinacea and grass combo looked stunning and I will try to do it next year.
And I will be sowing straw flowers, they remind me of my childhood and I totally forgot of their existence!
We came home with one small succulent and lots of seeds and bulbs.
